The word “somatic” comes from the Greek soma, meaning “the living body as felt from within,” and the practice focuses on developing internal awareness and reconnecting with how the body moves and feels. Drawing on somatic movement methods alongside modern neuroscience, the class uses slow, floor-based movements to reset the mind–body connection and soften chronic muscular holding patterns, with the healing effects of sound threaded through. Trauma-informed and accessible to all levels, this practice can be especially supportive for stress, fatigue, chronic tension, chronic pain, long-term health conditions, and pre/postnatal bodies.
